Sig Sauer Romeo 4 Review

The Best Of Everything In One Package!

The Romeo 4 red dot scope is like a mashup between the Vortex Sparc AR, the Holosun HS503G, and the Aimpoint Micro T-2 all wrapped into one package.

The Sig Sauer Romeo 4 is the Nissan GTR of the optics world! It has the perfect balance between Price, Quality, and Performance.

With the Lifetime Warranty and low pricing similar to Vortex Optics and high-end features like the Aimpoint Micro and Trijicon MRO.

The Romeo 4 is bound to please even the toughest critics.

Designed Like a Modern Sports Car

The design language of the Sig Sauer Romeo 4 reminds me of a modern sports car like the Nissan GTR or C7 Stingray Corvette with a light weight of 8.0oz but with the durability of an armored truck.

It has a very refined, and sleek snag free design.

It has very intuitive rubberized controls on the top (Romeo 4A/Romeo 4B) and on the side for the Romeo 4C.

Similar to the Vortex Sparc AR, the windage and elevation controls are recessed into the body of the optic to help prevent accidental adjustments and snagging.

The Romeo 4C model has a solar panel on the top of the unit to allow for 50,000 hour battery life.

An Optics Suitable For Navy Seals

The Romeo 4A, Romeo 4B, and Romeo 4C all boast an IPX-7 waterproof rating, which means that the Romeo 4 can be completely submerged in 1 meter of water for 30 minutes.

It’s an MMA Fighter

The Sig Sauer Romeo 4 can take quite the beating that would rival Aimpoint. Nobody as of yet has caused the optic to fail from impact. However that doesn’t mean that it’s not possible.

My Hands-On Experience.

During my testing the Sig Sauer Romeo 4B performed flawlessly.

Easy to mount with the Quick Detach lever.

Easy to Zero

Passed the waterproof test, fog test, and impact test.

Holds zero, even when removed and reinstalled.

There have been some rumors and misconceptions floating around the internet that I want to address.

Rumor: “The Sig Sauer Romeo 4 is nothing more than a re-branded Holosun 503G

Truth: After speaking with reps from Holosun and Sig Sauer, they both confirmed that this is false. Both companies stated that the internal circuitry is completely different.

So why not purchase the Holosun 503G for half the price?

I agree that the Holosun 503G is a fantastic optic, however the big determining factor here is what kind of warranty do you want?

Holosun Warranty:

3 years, non-transferable, and a lot of exclusions.

Sig Sauer Electro Optics Warranty:

Lifetime, transferable, no questions asked repair and replacement.

Bottom Line

High End Features for a low price point.

The Sig Sauer Romeo 4 is a great optic that bridges the gap between the Vortex Sparc AR and the Aimpoint Micro, except with a better warranty than Aimpoint or Trijicon.

In my humble opinion the Sig Sauer Romeo 4 is a great bargain for what you get. But if you don’t care about the Lifetime warranty, then save yourself $150 and get the Holosun 503G.
